Up close and personal – Head-shots. They are nice and intimate as one on one. During these sessions I get to know my clients a little better as I am only focusing on 1 person, so I find head-shots a refreshing change with a new set of challenges. In headshot session I like to capture a natural relaxed look and the way I get those shots is I distract the model by talking to them. Take their mind of a forced pose and get them to talk and of course laugh. In my head-shot session with Karen we laughed lots and both had such a great time I almost wanted to ask her out for coffee – but i refrained.
To relax her we started with some fun photos as I captured the light rays in the forest and just played about. Then sat her in a few typical head-shot poses as we talked and snapped away. I learnt thinking about her mum makes her laugh, she is now engaged to be married and just like me gets told to smile more in photos – no worries there in this session it was hard to snap one of her not smiling or laughing actually. Such a great time and already looking forward to photographing her again one day!
